Angono residents told to follow health protocols as COVID-19 cases rise

The local government of Angono, Rizal urged the residents to strictly follow the health protocols as COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the art capital of the country.

The office of Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon said 93 curfew violators were rounded up and brought to the municipal gymnasium for counseling by the social welfare officers from Sept. 3 to Sept. 16.

Elmer Deloritos, head of the town’s Public Safety Office, told Manila Bulletin that minors, who were found to be recidivists, were brought to their respective parents who were also lectured and counseled by the social workers.

Security personnel of the municipal government also apprehended some residents for not wearing face masks and face shields.

Mayor Calderon is also reminding cyclists who go to the so-called “‘Overlooking” to observe social distancing, or else police and local authorities will issue them citation tickets.

As of Sept. 17, there were 319 active cases in Angono, according to Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon’s post on Facebook.
