PCG trains 58 La Union barangay officials in WASAR, RBOM ops
Fifty-eight barangay officials in San Frrnando, Launion recently underwent a four-day training on water search and rescue (WASAR) and rubber boat operations and maintenance (RBOM) spearheaded by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the agency disclosed Friday, Sept. 17.


The barangay officials were trained by personnel of the PCG District Northwestern Luzon from Sept. 6 to 10.
During the training, the barangay officials were taught to perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or artificial respiration, first aid administration, and rescue operations on swimmers in danger of drowning.

Commodore Inocencio Rosario Jr., commander of PCG District Northwestern Luzon, urged the participants to keep on improving their skills to ensure the safety of their constituents.
Meanwhile, La Union Vice Mayor Alfredo Pablo Ortega expressed his appreciation to the personnel of the Coast Guard for their unwavering commitment and support to La Union residents.
