The first day of the enforcement of Alert Level 4 granular lockdown in the National Capital Region (NCR) was so far "good," a spokesperson for the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said Friday, September 17.

“So far, so good coming from the reports from various local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila," said Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, DILG spokesperson, in an interview on ABSCBN's ANC.
According to Malaya, inspectors were dispatched in various establishments to check the vaccination identification cards (ID) of individuals who go to dine in restaurants since this activity was allowed in a limited capacity.
The DILG spokesperson added that LGUs have been strictly monitoring the status of employees working in business establishments to ensure they are free from COVID-19.
He warned that the ‘safety seal’ certificates of business establishments could be revoked if they violate the guidelines prescribed under Alert Level 4.
The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) released recently the guidelines for the pilot implementation of Alert Levels and granular lockdown in the NCR.
Places under Alert Level 1 have low and decreasing COVID-19 case transmission, bed utilization and intensive care unit utilization rate while areas under Alert Level 2 have low and decreasing COVID-19 case transmission, low health care utilization or case counts are low and decreasing but total beds utilization rate and ICU utilization rate is rising.
Areas under Alert Level 3 have high COVID-19 case counts with increasing utilization rate for total hospital beds and ICU while those under Alert Level 4 have high or increasing case counts with hospital beds and ICUs at high utilization rate.
The worst is Alert level 5 where COVID-19 case counts are alarming with total hospital beds and ICUs at critical utilization rate.
