Cardinal Advincula tests positive for COVID-19

Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Archdiocese of Manila announced on Friday, Sept. 17.

“His Eminence Jose F. Cardinal Advincula, Archbishop of Manila, tested positive with COVID-19,” said Manila Archdiocese Chancellor Fr. Reginald Malicdem in a statement.

“Aside from a slight fever, he does not feel any other symptoms,” he added.

“He is on quarantine, observing strict protocols. Doctors are also monitoring his condition,” he furthered.

Malicdem asked the faithful to include in their prayers the 69-year-old prelate.

"We appeal for your prayers for His Eminence and for all those who are sick with COVID 19," said Malicdem.
