CAAP sends team to probe Bulacan plane crash

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) sent a team to investigate the crash of a Cessna 152 aircraft at a vacant lot in Plaridel, Bulacan on Friday, September 17.

CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio said the crashed aircraft was a two-seater, single-engine Cessna 152 light aircraft with identification number RPC 4623. It was owned by a certain Jett Marc Javellana, of Precision Flying School.

Two pilots were hurt in the incident and they were identified as Capt. Paul Jemuel Gayanes, 26; and Lebon Eisen Sandoval, 26.

Both of them sustained minor injuries and were sent to a hospital for immediate treatment.

According to initial information from CAAP, the plane went down immediately after takeoff at Runway 35 of Plaridel Airport around 8:15 a.m.

One of the plane's wings reportedly hit an acacia tree.

"The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines is now conducting an investigation and will find out the cause of the incident," Apolonio said.

The Plaridel airport is reportedly used to train student pilots who are enrolled in flying schools.
