345 health protocol violators nabbed in Pasay City

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano lauded the local police for their strict implementation of the new alert level system on Thursday (September 16) that led to the apprehension of about 345 individuals for various health protocol violations.

Rubiano ordered the local police under the supervision of Col. Cesar Paday-os to conduct patrol all over the city and ensure that businesses which were allowed to operate under the new alert system are compliant with the guidelines.

Based on the report submitted to Rubiano by the local police on Friday (September 17), 178 individuals were apprehended for not wearing face masks; 106 for violating the 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. curfew hour; 37 for not observing the physical distancing; and 27 for not wearing face shields.

The mayor said Paday-os also reported that a restaurant at Seaside Dampa Paluto located along Diosdado Macapaagal Boulevard was given a stern warning after one of its customers was found to be not fully vaccinated.

Rubiano said that under the new alert system, outdoor dining is allowed at 30 percent capacity, while indoor dining is limited to small groups of fully immunized people.

She said the Public Order and Safety Unit (POSU), Pasay City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO), and barangay officials, under the supervision of the local police, were also deputized to conduct strict monitoring to ensure that health protocols or the EMI Habit (Ensure to always wash your hand, Mask and face shield are a must, and Implement social distancing) is being followed to bring down the number of COVID-19 cases in the city.

The City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) reported on September 16 a total of 1,117 active cases of COVID-19 and 155 new cases in the city.
