Road portions in three main thoroughfares in Metro Manila will be closed over the weekend due to road works, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.

Reblocking and repair activities will be conducted on Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), Circumferential Road 5, and España Boulevard starting 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17.
The affected sections include the southbound portion of EDSA in Caloocan after Biglang Awa Street and in front of Mariano Street, fourth lane from sidewalk; northbound portion of C-5 Road before Mckinley; and a portion of España Boulevard from Extremadura Street to M. Dela Fuente Street.
The department said it has secured prior clearance and coordination with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in anticipation of expected traffic slowdown along areas covered by the weekend road repair.
All affected road sections will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 20.
Motorists were advised to use alternate routes instead.
