Batanes prelate appeals for help for typhoon victims

Batanes Bishop Danilo Ulep has appealed for financial help for the families adversely affected by the recent Typhoon Kiko.

"In the aftermath of the super typhoon Kiko that recently hit Batanes, I am humbly appealing for assistance in behalf of our people," he said in a message of appeal dated Sept. 16 "With your support, we know that we can get back on our feet and move on with our life after this yet another trial," Ulep added.

Those who want to help may send their donations to Landbank Account (Account Name: Prelature of Batanes/Account Number: 1081-0502-08) or via GCash Account (Account Name: Danilo Ulep/Mobile Number: 0917 578 0198).

Ulep asked donors to send a copy or screenshot of the deposit or transaction slip thru their email addresses ([email protected] or [email protected]) for proper acknowledgement.

According to the prelate, several houses, especially those made of light materials, were literally blown away by the typhoon.

Ulep said many buildings have also sustained damage with partially destroyed roofs, including the rectory/convent in Ivana Parish as well as the St. Dominic College, the only Catholic and private college in the province.
