All hands on deck as Pasay City implements new alert system

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government is utilizing all the necessary offices in the City Hall to ensure that the new alert level system will be properly implemented.

Rubiano said the city created a task force and enforcement team that will inspect businesses establishments in the city to ensure that health protocols under Alert Level 4 will be properly observed.

She said that aside from the Business Permit and Licensing Office team, there will be an additional deployment of policemen to help barangay officials monitor or even apprehend, if necessary, all quarantine and health protocols violators.

The mayor said the city is allowing the construction of residential, housing and commercial establishments provided that workers are based on-site and subject to strict compliance with minimum health protocols, whether private or public, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Rubiano said the city government will continue to implement the market day scheme to lessen the number of market goers in the city’s public markets.

She asked the city residents to comply with the assigned schedule of their respective barangay and comply with the minimum health standard like the wearing of face mask, face shield, temperature check, physical distancing of at least one meter in the market.

The mayor said the selling of liquor in the city will remain from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. However, only Pasay City residents are allowed to purchase during the window hour and must present their identification card (ID).
