Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso issued Wednesday the guidelines on the implementation of granular lockdown in Manila.
Domagoso signed Executive Order (EO) No. 28 or the guidelines on the pilot implementation of the COVID-19 alert level system imposed by the national government.
"The authority to impose granular lockdown shall be exercised by the city mayor with respect to his component barangays subject to the concurrence of the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF), and individual houses where one household member has been confirmed, residential buildings, streets, blocks, puroks, subdivisions, and/or villages within their jurisdiction," the EO read.
Granular lockdown will be enforced not less than 14 days and assistance will be provided to affected residences.
The Manila Health Department was directed to report to the Department of Interior and Local Government the details of the granular lockdown.
Curfew hours in the city will be from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting on Thursday, Sept. 16.
Metro Manila will be placed under Alert Level 4 wherein granular lockdowns will be enforced only in critical areas as part of the improved action to the control COVID-19 surge.
