Saweetie's Met Gala 2021 dress pays homage to her Filipino roots

Fil-Am singer Saweetie brought her pride as a Filipino to Met Gala 2021

The “Icy Girl” singer wore a red Christian Cowan gown made sensual with its asymmetrical neckline, skin-baring cutouts, and high slit. Making it dramatic are two iridescent trains representing the Philippine and Black American flags.

"My cape represents the Black American heritage flag and the Filipino flag," she said to ET Online. She also noted that these two flags are elements that make her an American, per Teen Vogue.

With the piece looking light and sheer, it is hard to believe that dress is heavy. According to the singer the dress has 10 million crystals, and that it took eight people to help her get ready.

Saweetie definitely made us proud with this look.
