Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital in Manila hits 'critical level' capacity

The capacity of Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital (JJASGH), one of Manila’s district hospitals, reached critical level on Monday night (Sept. 13).

In an advisory, the hospital said its patients have outnumbered its beds, while its emergency room and holding tents are already full as well.

The hospital’s management said the facility needs to be able to discharge patients first before it can admit new ones.

As of 12 p.m. on Sept. 13, the occupancy rate of the city’s six district hospitals, JJASGH included, was at 73 percent.

Based on latest data, Manila has 1,247 active COVID-19 cases.
