DILG probes Cebu City's 'no vaccination, no dine-in' policy

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is now investigating reports of the alleged “no vaccination, no dine-in policy” being implemented in Cebu City.

In an interview over GMA News, DILG Secretary Eduardo Año clarified that the policy has yet to be approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID).

“Kaya nga inutusan natin ang regional office doon na makipag-uganayan kay acting Mayor (Michael) Rama para suriin yung ginagawa nila (That is why we ordered our regional office there to coordinate with acting Mayor Rama to examine the policy),’’ Año said.

Año emphasized that it is not the appropriate time for Cebu City to implement such a policy considering the number of their vaccinated population.

In the same report, the Cebu City government has allowed people who have already been vaccinated against COVID-19 to avail of dine-in and personal care services.

Rama said people who received at least the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine will have access to these services.

With a target of 700,000 recipients, Rama said around 300,000 residents have already received the complete COVID-19 vaccine doses. (Chito A. Chavez)
