Several roads in Luzon, Visayas remain impassable due to typhoons--DPWH

Several roads in Luzon and Visayas remained closed and have limited access as of Monday, Sept. 13, after the onslaught of typhoons "Kiko" and "Jolina", the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.

A road section in Ternate, Cavite was still closed to traffic while five roads Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Batangas, and Leyte were only accessible to limited vehicles due to landslides, flooding, and damaged bridge and seawall caused by the typhoons.

A section of the Ternate Nasugbu Road in Barangay Sapang II, Ternate, Cavite remained impassable to all types of vehicles due to landslides.

For the meantime, motorists may take Tagaytay Batangas via Tuy Road as an alternative route.

A section of Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road, the River Detour Road, was still flooded and was only passable for light vehicles.

The Bicos Bridge along Pinagpanaan-Rizal Pantabangan Road in Barangay Bicos, Rizal, Nueva Ecija only has one passable lane due to damaged bridge deck.

The Minalin-Macebeb Section of the Sto. Tomas - Minalin Road in Telacsan, Macabebe, Pampanga was also flooded and only open to heavy vehicles.

Both affected sections of the Batangas-Tabangao-Lobo Road and Jaro-Dagami-Burauen- Lapaz Road in Leyte were only passable for light vehicles due to damaged seawall with road slip and scoured slope protection at bridge abutment.

The department said its "quick response teams are conducting clearing operations to reopen affected sections as soon as possible."
