PH Red Cross 'Bakuna' buses go to Cagayan, Cavite
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Monday, Sept. 13, deployed its “Bakuna Bus” in Cagayan and in Cavite in line with its efforts to support the government in its national coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination initiative.

PRC’s “Bakuna Bus” were sent to Lal-lo, Cagayan to vaccinate 500 individuals. In Cavite, the buses were sent to Imus to vaccinate 600 individuals and in Naic to target the vaccination of 500 individuals.
“Pinasasalamatan ko at pinagmamalaki ang lahat ng ating mga masisipag na volunteers and staff for doing a great job. (I’m very thankful and proud of all our hardworking volunteers and staff for doing a great job),” said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon.
Gordon said that the volunteers of PRC remained committed in helping others despite the many challenges during the pandemic. “Anuman ang mangyari, ipagpapatuloy namin ang aming pangako sa paglilingkod sa mamamayang Pilipino (No matter what happens, we will continue our commitment to serve the Filipino people),” he added.
As of Sept. 13, the PRC has deployed sixteen “Bakuna” buses in Luzon and Visayas --- 11 are from Victory Liner, five are from UBE Express, and two are from Ceres Liner.
The PRC currently has 20 “Bakuna” Centers nationwide after the latest dry run in Davao City on Sept. 11.
PRC said that it “shoulders all other costs” under the COVID-19 Vaccination Program of the government outside the vaccines which include syringes, mobilization, and vaccinator allowances.
The “Bakuna” Centers of PRC include PRC PLMC, PRC EDSA Boni, PRC Port Area, PRC Pasay Chapter, PRC Manila Chapter KABAKA, PRC Manila Chapter Letran, PRC Quezon City Ever Gotesco, PRC Negros Occidental Gaisano Grand, PRC Iligan Chapter PRC Zamboanga City Training Center, PRC Bulacan Chapter- BSU, and PRC Batangas Xentro Mall.
Other centers are located in PRC Cavite – SM Bacoor; PRC Cavite – Vista Mall Gen. Trias; PRC Tarlac – City walk Mall; PRC Olongapo – SM Downtown; PRC Bataan Chapter/Penelco; Arcovia; San Lorenzo Mall; and PRC Davao City Chapter- Archdiocese Compound in coordination with respective local government units (LGUs).
The “Bakuna” bus deployment areas include Marikina City, Mandaluyong City, Manila City, Navotas City, Caloocan, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, Cordova City, Talisay City, Naga City in Cebu, Bogo City in Cebu, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal, Quezon in Lucena, and Bacolod City.
As of Sept. 12, the PRC “Bakuna Centers” and “Bakuna Buses” have vaccinated 206,079 individuals prioritizing A1 to A5 COVID-19 priority groups.
A total of 167, 222 have been vaccinated in the PRC vaccination centers while 37,838 have been vaccinated in vaccination buses nationwide.
