Pasay City government inoculates 80% with 1st COVID-19 dose, 57% with 2nd dose
The Pasay City government vaccinated a total of 434,860 persons of the total target population of 316,225 against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
According to Dr. Grace Noble, head of Pasay City’s immunization program, 253,385 individuals or 80 percent of the total target population, already received their first dose of the vaccines.
Noble said they recorded 181,015 or about 57 percent individuals belonging to categories A1 to A5 who were fully vaccinated.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano urged city residents to register with the city’s “Vacc to the Future” vaccination program.
Rubiano said getting the vaccine remains the best protection against COVID-19 as well as the strict observance of the basic health protocols.
The city government has recorded a total of 19, 132 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic and 17,598 recoveries.
The City Health Office (CHO) on September 12 recorded 1,057 active cases and 101 new cases.
Rubiano said that due to the multiplying numbers of COVID-19 cases in the city, the city government is doing its best to control this by conducting active contact tracing, RT-PCR testing, treatment and isolation, and placing barangays with three or more active cases under localized enhanced community quarantine (LECQ).
She also told residents to always practice the EMI habit (Ensure to always wash your hands, Mask is a must, and Implement physical distancing).
