The Taguig City government announced that more than half of its residents are now fully vaccinated.
According to TRACE Taguig, as of Sept. 11, 462,730 individuals have been fully vaccinated, or 53 percent of the city’s total population of 872,980, which is based on the Department of Health’s 2021 population projection.

In addition, 639,500 individuals have received their first dose of the vaccine, or 73 percent of the total population. A total of 1,086,731 vaccine doses have been administered in Taguig’s vaccination hubs.
As of Sept. 10, Taguig has 1,353 active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases as it added 278 new cases for the day. There are 39,314 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Taguig including 37,653 recoveries and 308 deaths.
From Sept. 3 to 9, Taguig recorded 2,097 new cases, or an average of 300 cases per day, according to the city government’s weekly report, higher by 127 cases compared to 1,970 new cases tallied from Aug. 27 to Sept. 2.
Of the weekly average active cases of 2,221 as of Sept. 9, 1,176 (53 percent) are vaccinated and 1,045 (47 percent) are vaccinated.
Out of the 1,176 vaccinated active cases, three (0.25 percent) are severe cases, 13 (1.1 percent) are moderate, 591 (50.25 percent) are mild and 570 (48.4 percent) are asymptomatic.
According to OCTA Research’s Dr. Guido David, Taguig had 642 new cases on Sept. 11 based on the tally by the Department of Health (DOH), ranking fifth among the local government units (LGUs) in the country with the highest new cases.
With 642 new cases, Taguig ranked second in the National Capital Region (NCR), which had a total of 9,061 new cases on Sept. 11, according to David. Caloocan placed first with 869 followed by Taguig, Paranaque with 547, Makati with 534, Valenzuela with 439, Muntinlupa with 384 and Las Pinas with 343.
