Mark Striegl set for UFC comeback in December

Mark Striegl is set for a UFC comeback in December, more than a year after his promotional debut in October 2020.

Striegl announced the development during the #UnderTheArmour webinar Saturday night, Sept. 11 and said he's just waiting for the UFC to finalize his opponent and the date of the fight night.

It would be recalled that Striegl dropped his UFC debut against Said Nurmagomedov of Russia.

It wasn't the kickoff the Filipino-American fighter wanted as Nurmagomedov only needed 51 seconds to hand Striegl his first loss in the promotion during their bantamweight bout in Abu Dhabi.

Striegl, a sambo gold medalist in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, was also scheduled for a comeback in April against American foe Johnny Munoz but the bout was cancelled due to unknown circumstances.

It was unclear why Striegl withdrew from his supposed return in the Octagon.

The 33-year-old fighter from Baguio City has 18 wins, three defeats, and a no-contest decision on his record.
