English musician Phil Collins has revealed that his band Genesis is ready to put it to bed after 54 years of making music.

For the last time, Genesis will go on tour in October after it was postponed due to the pandemic. The last time the band played together was 14 years ago.

"Rotten. No change," said Collins when BBC's media and arts correspondent, David Sillito, asked him how does it feel playing together, during an exclusive interview.

"I'm kind of physically challenged a bit which is very frustrating because I love to be playing up there with my son," he said.

Collins, 70, said that he would still love to play drums but "I can barely hold a stick with this hand. So there are certain physical things that get in the way.

"I mean we're all men of our age and I think to some extent yeah I think it probably is putting it to bed. I think just generally for me, you know, I don't know if I want to go out on the road anymore," he said, about the tour.

Genesis blasted into the music charts with the hit songs,"That's All," "Invisible Touch," "In Too Deep," "Land of Confusion," etc.

On several occasions, Collins and Mike Rutherford would record individual albums, but the band never broke up.

As a solo artist, Collins charted with the No. 1 songs "Against All Odds (Take A Look at Me Now)," "You'll Be In My Heart," "Sussudio," "One More Night," "Another Day In Paradise," "Two Hearts," and "Groovy Kind of Love."

Rutherford, with his band Mike and the Mechanics, scored hits "All I Need Is A Miracle (All I Need is You)" and "The Living Years."
