Barangay health centers in Manila now ready to administer COVID-19 jabs

Barangay health centers in Manila are now ready to administer 1st dose vaccination to A1 to A5 Priority Groups starting Wednesday (Sept. 1).

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso and the Manila Health sector met on Tuesday (Aug. 31) to discuss the current COVID-19 cases and mass vaccination in the city.

"Magandang balita. Saturated na ang bakunahan sa Maynila (We have good news. The vaccination in Manila is already saturated)," Domagoso on Tuesday.

"Kakaunti na lang ang di nababakunahan. Simula bukas, pati mga health centers natin bubuksan na para iyong hindi pa (nababakunahan), malapit na sila sa kanilang bahay (Only a few remains unvaccinated. Starting September 1, the health centers will serve those who are not yet vaccinated. These centers are near your houses)," he added.

A total of 1,500 vaccine doses will be deployed to each barangay in Districts 1 to 6.

The vaccination will start from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The school vaccination sites and drive-thru vaccination in the nation's capital will still follow the "no walk-in" policy. Only the mall sites and health centers will allow walk-ins.

A total of 767,723 individuals are now fully vaccinated in the city.
