St. Luke's COVID-19 wards in Taguig, QC reach full capacity

St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC) announced Monday, Aug. 9, that its coronavirus disease (COVID-19) wards and critical units in both Global City and Quezon City have reached full capacity.

In an advisory, the hospital advised those seeking urgent medical treatment to consider other hospitals as SLMC still has patients in line at the emergency rooms.

"Be assured that we will keep the public updated. For now, we appeal to everyone to help prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19 in the community by continuously adhering to health and safety protocols," it added.

The National Kidney and Transplant Institute on Sunday, Aug. 8, said it hit full capacity for its COVID-19 patients and is limiting admission at its emergency room.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported that 13 hospitals in Metro Manila have already reached 100 percent utilization of their bed capacity dedicated for COVID-19 patients.
