Over 500,000 vaccines deployed in Mandaluyong City; more than P340-M 'ayuda' received

The Mandaluyong City local government announced on Saturday that it has already deployed a total of 514,475 vaccines as it continues to ramp up its vaccination efforts amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the City Health Office (CHO), 311,400 residents have received their first dose of the vaccine, while 219,174 have been fully vaccinated.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos said that the city government will continue to vaccinate its residents during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila to curb the spread of the virus and its more transmissible Delta variant.

Abalos added that the city government has received a total of P347,652,000 from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to serve as ECQ financial assistance or 'ayuda' for its residents adversely affected by the quarantine.

DILG spokesperson Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said on Monday that Metro Manila mayors agreed to start the distribution of the financial aid on Wednesday, August 11.
