Good news for PUV drivers: Terminal fees in some Metro malls waived during ECQ
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said drivers and operators of public utility vehicles (PUVs) will no longer have to pay terminal fees in some malls during the two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila.

In a statement, LTFRB said the Ayala Malls management and the Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) have agreed to waive the fees being charged to PUV operators and drivers for the use of their terminals.
The LTFRB said its agreement with the Ayala Corporation and RLC aims to alleviate the expenses of PUV drivers and operators at a time when that the National Capital Region (NCR) has been placed under the strictest quarantine status.
The government's pandemic task force has decided to once again place NCR or Metro Manila under ECQ from Aug. 6 to 20 due to the threat of the more transmissible Delta variant of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Unlike the previous implementation of ECQ, operations of public transport have been allowed during the ongoing lockdown but at a reduced capacity and stricter enforcement of health and safety protocols.
Aside from deferring the terminal fee, the LTFRB added that the two mall operators are currently working with the government to have their facilities used as vaccination sites for PUV drivers.
Those who would get inoculated in these malls will also get discounts, incentives, and promos from the said companies.
Meanwhile, the agency thanked Ayala Malls and RLC for their support to ensure the safety of transport workers, as well as commuters amid the pandemic.
