Panelo condoles with Trillanes on mom's death

Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo has expressed his condolences to former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV for the passing of his mother Estelita on Friday, August 6.

Panelo made the statement after Trillanes announced on his Facebook page that his mother died at the age of 87 from complications from Parkinson's disease.

The Trillanes matriarch died on the former Senator's 50th birthday.

In his statement, Panelo said he empathized with Trillanes.

"My sincere condolences to former Senator Trillanes for the passing of his mother," he said Sunday, August 8.

"The demise of a parent is a painful loss to every child who grew up under the loving guidance and nurture-ship of the departed loved one. I know how it feels to lose a beloved mother," he added.

"I pray for the eternal repose of her soul snd may the perpetual light shine upon her," he continued.

The Mayo Clinic website described Parkinson's disease as a progressive nervous system disorder that affects movement.

Symptoms start gradually, sometimes starting with a barely noticeable tremor in just one hand. Tremors are said to be common, but the disorder commonly causes stiffness or slowing of movement.

To date, there is no known cure for Parkinson's disease.
