Black Mamba Army downs Cignal HD to finish sixth in PVL

Black Mamba Army turned back Cignal HD, 25-14, 17-25, 25-18, 25-19, and finish at sixth place in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the PVC Socio-Civic & Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte Saturday night.

Jovielyn Gonzaga and Royse Tubino finished with 14 and 12 points for the Lady Troopers, who ended their campaign with four wins against five losses.

Gonzaga and Tubino highlighted their performances with a combined 23 of the team’s 43 kills.

Ging Balse-Pabayo stepped up on the defensive end for Army by posting four of her nine points on blocks.

Army coach Kungfu Reyes thanked his stalwarts for delivering a graceful exit.

“Siyempre wala namang gusto na ditto kami matapos. Lahat kami nag-e-aim na pumasok sa Final Four, pero at least nakapag-perform naman kami kahit maraming nangyari,” he said.

Cignal HD ended its campaign at the bottom with Perlas with a 1-8 card.
