Tom Daley finishes the cardigan he has been knitting at the Olympics

Who says knitting is only for grandmas? Great Britain's diver Tom Daley has been breaking the internet for the past few days with snaps of him at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics while knitting, and it looks like he's done.

Dubbed as the Olympic Cardigan, his latest knit work is an ode to, well, the prestigious games. The design dons sporty colors with the Olympics' rings featured at the back.

"When I got to Tokyo, I wanted to make something that would remind me of the Olympics to look back on in the future," the gold medalist says. "I designed a pattern for the color work that would signify everything about these games!"

Apart from the Olympic emblem, Tom also included in the design some of Team Great Britain elements such as its logo and flag on the sleeves. In front is a simple embroidery of the word "Tokyo" in Japanese letters.

In honor of his dad, the Olympic Cardigan is also made for a cause. Tom partners with The Brain Tumour Charity and uses the piece to raise some funds for its initiatives.

Through an Instagram post, the athlete expresses knitting as his way of "finding calm, mindfulness, and relieves stress."

"One thing that has kept me sane throughout this whole process is my love for knitting and crochet and all things stitching," he says.

Currently, "Made with love by Tom Daley," an Instagram page dedicated to his knitted and crocheted creations, now has more than a million followers.
