Look who walked down the aisle on their wedding day?

This couple showed their respect to their elders in the cutest way—they asked the bride's paternal grandmother Lola Estrella and maternal grandmother Lola Nena to walk down the aisle as their flower girls.

Ronna Jen Uy-Cañete and Anthony B. Cañete had their intimate wedding last May 15, 2021, but what made their wedding extra special was when both grandmothers said yes to taking on entourage roles. Set in Sagrado Corazon Nazareno Parish in Tagum City, Davao Del Norte, Ronna told Manila Bulletin Lifestyle that "I just want my wedding to be memorable, that’s why I’ve decided to let my lolas become my flower girls . Actually, hindi nila alam, sa wedding na nila nalaman na sila ang flower girls (Actually, they don't know, they only found out that they'll be flower girls at the wedding)."

"As per lola nena and estrella po, masaya po sila dahil na experience nila ang maging flower girls. And hindi nila inasahan na mag vi-viral. Mas naging memorable po yung wedding dahil sa kanila (they were both happy to experience becoming flower girls. What they didn't anticipate was them becoming viral. Our wedding became even more memorable because of them)," added Ronna.

When asked what her favorite part of the wedding was, she said, "Yung pati po ang ibang family members masaya rin po sa nakita nila. Happy po ang lahat. Yun ang importante sa amin (The other family members were happy when they saw them. Everyone was happy. That's the most important for us)."

It's been four months since that beautiful day. Now, the family is given another reason to celebrate. Ronna is pregnant! "Last July 27 ko lang po nalaman. Six weeks na. Mas naging masaya mga lola ko po, dahil ito talaga gusto nila—apo daw sa tuhod—kay siguro ang bilis binigay. Ang saya po nila, ang dami pong mga instructions para po sa baby. Excited po sila maging lola again (I only found out last July 27. I'm six weeks pregnant. My grandmothers are even happier, because this is what they want—great grandchildren—maybe that's why their wish was granted so fast. They're so happy, they've been sharing instructions on how to take care of the baby)."
