Imus, Cavite LGU halts use of vaccination registration app

IMUS, Cavite - The local government unit (LGU) temporarily halted the use of the vaccination registration platform UBE Express after being swarmed by non-residents who want to be inoculated against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

"Ang UBE Express App na ginagamit sa registration ng mga nais magpabakuna ay kasalukuyan ding isinasaayos sapagkat ito ay naabuso ng mga hindi residente o nagtatrabaho sa lungsod ng Imus ngunit nagrehistro sa pagnanais na makapagpabakuna (The UBE Express App, which is used for vaccine registration, is currently being regulated because it was abused by non-residents or those who aren't working in Imus but want to be vaccinated),” Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi wrote in a Facebook post on August 3.

In response to the development, the city government has implemented a verification process in vaccination sites to ensure that the vaccines will be administered to bona fide residents and workers of Imus.

Maliksi, meanwhile, has met with private and public hospitals on Thursday (August 5) amid the threat of increasing COVID-19 cases.

Ospital ng Imus has earlier acquired additional facilities, including hospital tents for the hospital's emergency room extension, in anticipation of the surge.
