The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has inaugurated the newly constructed "Malasakit Hall" of the Butuan Airport.

The Malasakit Hall is a one-stop shop transient spot for the flying public specifically designed to provide comfort and convenience, CAAP said.
As part of the modernization efforts at Butuan Airport, the hall is equipped with a clinic for minor medical emergencies, childcare room with area for breastfeeding and diaper changing, a non-sectarian prayer room with wash area, overseas Filipino workers (OFW) lounge and spaces for concessionaires such as food and souvenir stores.
The construction phase for the project ran from March 17 to November 5, 2020, amid the raging coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. It was funded by the Corporate Operating Budget (COB) 2020 with an allocation of P7 million.
Other completed projects at the Butuan City, Agusan del Norte airport were the asphalt overlay of the runway, the replacement of the airport's doppler VHF omnidirectional range/ distance measuring equipment (DVOR/DME), and the improvement of the passenger terminal building (PTB).
