The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) clarified on Thursday, August 5, that all individuals scheduled for the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) vaccination are considered as authorized persons outside residence (APORs) and are permitted to pass through checkpoints upon presentation of their vaccination schedules.
DILG Undersecretary and spokesperson Jonathan Malaya in a statement reiterated that “the vaccination program in all local government units (LGUs) will continue during the two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) period with four million additional vaccines will be made available as supplies continue to pour in.’’
“In fact, we will utilize the two-week lockdown to ramp up vaccination in Metro Manila in cooperation with the LGUs in order for us to reach population protection this year,’’ he added.
Malaya also warned “the public about fake news and disinformation that is currently spreading about the vaccination and the ayuda.’’
“There is no truth whatsoever to the rumor that only vaccinated individuals will be given ayuda. The ayuda 2 approved by the President is for low-income individuals and families in the National Capital Region (NCR) regardless of vaccination status,’’ Malaya clarified.
The DILG spokesperson noted that the guidelines are now being finalized for the immediate release of the funds following the same system implemented during ayuda 1 last April. (Chito a. Chavez)
