Paranaque BPLO to maintain skeleton workforce under ECQ

The Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) of Paranaque City will maintain a 20% skeleton workforce and a work-from-home scheme during the duration of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR) from Aug. 6 to 20, a city official said Thursday.

Lawyer Melanie Soriano-Malaya, head of the BPLO, said the move is in compliance with the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) guidelines for the ECQ.

Malaya said that during the ECQ, their services shall be made available to all taxpayers through online platforms.

She encourages taxpayers to visit paranaquecity.ph/bploparanaque.com [email protected] for any transaction they wish to be made with the BPLO.

The BPLO chief also said their office will also strictly implement online appointment system for business-related transactions through app.bploparanaque.com/appointment.

Malaya said BPLO’s team inspector will also be deployed to ensure that business operating hours will be followed.

She said malls and commercial centers’ operating hours must be up to 6:00p.m. only, including markets, sari-sari stores, and talipapa.

The BPLO chief added that the businesses allowed to operate for 24 hours are pharmacy and drug stores, gasoline stations, take-out, and delivery food services.

Malaya said selling and serving of liquor is strictly prohibited under the ECQ in the city.
