DOH says 'no vaccine, no work' policy not allowed

The Department of Health (DOH) reiterated that the "no vaccine, no work policy" is prohibited.

Citing Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Advisory 3, Series of 2021, the DOH said that all employers may only encourage their workers to get vaccinated.

"Any employee who chooses not to get vaccinated or fails to get vaccinated shall not be discriminated against in terms of employment," the DOH said.

DOH also said that proof of vaccination is not a requirement for employment as stated in Republic Act No. 11525, known as the "COVID-19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021."

"Additionally, Republic Act 11525 states that vaccine cards shall not be considered an additional requirement for employment purposes," the DOH said.

The DOH had reminded the public to only believe in reliable news sources.

“Huwag po tayong maniwala sa fake news na pag hindi nabakunahan, walang ayuda o hindi papapasukin sa trabaho (Let's not believe in fake news that if we are not vaccinated, you will not receive an 'ayuda' or you will not be allowed to go to work),” it said.
