The Quezon City government’s COVID-19 vaccination drive is expected to reach the 1 million mark on Thursday, August 5.
“By tomorrow we would have hit already 1 million persons, 1 million persons in Quezon City would have already received at least one dose,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said in a virtual press conference.
Mayor Belmonte also said that around 600,000 individuals are already fully vaccinated.
“We can roll out about 25,000 a day up to 50,000 individuals a day. ‘Yung share po namin dun sa 250,000 na commitment po ng NCR na dapat bakunahan sa isang araw, kayang kaya po ‘yan gawin (We can rollout about 25,000 to 50,000 individuals a day. Our share to the NCR’s commitment to vaccinate 250,000 individuals in one day, we can do that)”, she said.
The city currently has 50 vaccination sites for its residents and individuals who are working in the city.
Belmonte said private companies may coordinate with the city government for the vaccination of their employees.
The city government started its vaccination rollout in March 2021.
