More than 210,000 vaccines deployed in San Juan; 70% of total population fully vaccinated by end of August
The San Juan City local government said on Tuesday, August 3, that it has already deployed a total of 214,669 doses of COVID-19 vaccines as it eyes to fully vaccinate 70 percent of its total population before the end of the month to achieve herd immunity.

The local government reported that as of August 2, 2021, the city has administered a total of 132,362 first doses or 107.58 percent of the total population of the city based on the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) population projection for 2021, and 99.89 percent of the population projection for 2021 of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
It added that 82,307 jabs have been administered as second doses or 66.90 percent of the total population based on the PSA population projection, and 62.11 percent based on ADB population projection.
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said the local government is confident that the city can reach its target of fully vaccinating 70 percent of its total population by this month with 7,953 second doses to go. The PSA population projection for San Juan City is 123,031 for 2021 while the ADB projects a population of 132,512 for the city in the same year.
The city government was lauded by President Rodrigo Duterte during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 26 for its superb handling of the COVID-19 situation and its efficient vaccination program.
