Families urged to recite Prayer of Hope in time of COVID-19 during ECQ

The Diocese of Parañaque urged families to recite the Prayer of Hope in time of COVID-19 while in their homes during the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine.

"We encourage everyone, especially families in their homes, to join in reciting the Prayer of Hope in Time of COVID-19 Lockdown by Bishop Jesse E. Mercado, D.D from August 6 to 20, 2021 after the 6 p.m. Angelus," the diocese said in a Facebook post Tuesday, August 3.

"We also invite all parishes to recite this prayer in all their Friday livestreamed masses (Aug. 6, 13 and 20) after the Post-Communion Prayer," it further read.

The diocese also posted a copy of the prayer seen below:

"Merciful God, we place our trust in You as we battle the threat of the COVID-19 virus, especially of the new Delta variant. We pray that You protect us from hopelessness and helplessness.

Grant us wisdom to work towards effective solutions.

Wipe our tears and allay our fears. Help us brave the uncertainties that come our way.

Grace our health workers, doctors and nurses with your loving embrace so that they may find strength and meaning in their noble vocation.

Enlighten the minds of our government officials so that they may prioritize the essentials, and steer our country to safety and security.

May these weeks of lockdown teach us to be more prudent and to be more responsible in following protocols for the safety of our family and country, which are blessings you have entrusted to our care.

This we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen."

"Let us continue to build our faith and hope in the Lord despite all these challenging times," the diocese said.

The Inter Agency Task Force placed Metro Manila under ECQ from August 6 to 20 to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.
