DLSU professor appointed as managing editor of prestigious Harvard Public Health Review

A professor of the De La Salle University in Manila has been named as one of the managing editors of the prestigious Harvard Public Health Review (HPHR).

This was announced by the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) on its official Facebook page on Wednesday. August 4.

"Congratulations, Jeconiah Louis M. Dreisbach, for being appointed as one of the Managing Editors of the Harvard Public Health Review!,” it said.

The NRCP noted that Dreisbach is an associate member of NRCP Division of Social Sciences, and an assistant professor of DLSU-Manila.

Based on his profile posted at the NRCP website, Dreisbach is a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) candidate in Humanities and Communication at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

“He is also a doctoral researcher in critical sociolinguistics for the UOC research group Language, Culture, and Identity in the Global Age (IdentiCat) in Barcelona,” it said.

“He is also interested in the political, cultural, and linguistic aspects of public health research.”

In its website, the HPHR said its mission is “to improve health at the local, national, and international levels” by publishing “content grounded in thoughtful evaluation of evidence and research that addresses issues of health equity."

“We seek to be a leader in developing the voices of new and emerging researchers and leveraging traditional and new mediums: online and print publications, videos, podcasts, ebooks, and more.”

The HPHR said its vision “is to be recognized as a premier publication that transcends the traditional boundaries of academia to enrich discourse around issues of public health.”
