CSC: 4-day gov't online career fair to be held in September

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will hold the Government Online Career Fair (GOCF) to be held on Sept. 20 to 24 as part of this year’s 121st Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA).

The GOCF will be held in partnership with JobStreet.com.

With this, all government agencies have been urged to join the GOCF and register on Aug. 5 to 25 through the JobStreet Philippines website at https://www.jobstreet.com.ph/.../employer/cscregistration/.

“The GOCF is a yearly event that brings together government agencies and job seekers to facilitate applications and possible hiring,” the CSC said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Commission asked participating government agencies to complete their agency profile online by Aug. 31 for review of JobStreet Philippines, after registration.

It said the profile includes basic information about the agency, as well as its corporate branding. It will included in the virtual hiring booth.

"Participating government agencies should identify all urgent and/or critical or hard-to-fill positions requiring immediate hiring. The positions to be offered should comply with publication and posting requirements on or before the actual event in September,” the CSC reminded.

It sought the submission of job listing using CS Form No. 9, s. 2018 (MS Excel Format) together with a short job description for each to [email protected] on or before Aug. 31.

The Commission said government agencies were required to assign staff to handle the LiveChat feature of the online job fair platform during the actual event. Assigned HR staff will undergo chatbot training on Aug. 23, it said.

“Only agencies who are able to register, accomplish the agency profile, submit job listings, and complete chatbot training will be able to join the job fair,” it stressed.

It said all government agencies must be able to initially review or assess the documents submitted by job applicants after receiving their application during the GOCF.

“Agencies must also be able to respond promptly to inquiries of applicants, and update them of the status of their applications within the event period,” it said.

The CSC urged government agencies to practice competency-based assessment that does not discriminate against any qualified interested persons, including persons with disabilities (PWD), members of indigenous communities, and those from any sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression (SOGIE).

It said the complete mechanics of the job fair may be viewed from the CSC website at www.csc.gov.ph/pcsa2021.
