Man hacks toddler to death in Zamboanga del Sur

A three-year old boy died after his neighbor, who is reportedly suffering from a mental disorder, hacked his head inside their house in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

In a report from GMA’s Unang Balita on Monday, Aug. 30, the victim’s father went to their room to get money to buy food for the family. He then left the victim and his siblings in the kitchen.

The report said the father rushed immediately to the kitchen after hearing loud noises in the area. He then saw his son lying on the floor and bleeding.

It was found out that the suspect is a childhood friend of the victim's father. The suspect, who is suffering from a mental disorder, was also allegedly tried to stab the victim’s sibling.

Fortunately, the father has stopped the suspect who then ran out of the house after the incident.The father took his son to the hospital, however, he was dead on arrival.

The suspect was arrested.
