35 Pinoys from Afghanistan arrive in Manila

A total of 35 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families, including two children, are now safe after they arrived in the country from Afghanistan where peace and order is now becoming a major concern.

The OFWs arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 at 1:29 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31, on board the Philippine Airline flight from Doha, Qatar.

In an interview, OFW Helen Guillermo told the Manila Bulletin that they left Kabul via a flight to Islamabad in Pakistan.

They were then advised to stay in Islamabad for six days before they boarded a plane to Doha where they boarded another flight to Manila.

"We are thankful that we arrived home in the Philippines safe," said Guillermo who worked as one of the directors of one of the German non-government organizations.
