LOOK: PH Red Cross transfers 34 COVID-19 patients at Hospicio de San Jose to its isolation facility

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) posted Sunday, Aug. 29, a video on its Facebook page showing that it is facilitating the transfer of coronavirus disease patients (COVID-19) from Hospicio de San Jose to its isolation facility at Adamson University in Manila.

It was shown in the video that Hospicio de San Jose sought PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon’s assistance to aid 34 individuals who tested positive for COVID-19, including its staff.

“Hospicio humingi ng tulong kay Chairman para sa mahigit 34 na patients at staff nila na nag-COVID positive (Hospicio sought the Chairman’s assistance for 34 patients and their staff who tested positive for COVID,” the PRC said.

Hospicio de San Jose administrator Sister Maria Socorro Pilar Evidente asked Gordon on Aug. 28, requesting PRC to open its isolation facility in Adamson University to attend to its COVID-positive patients, including elderly and children.

"Please Senator, grant our appeal to open this facility for our use because it is near to us so we can transfer some of our active cases and decongest our quarantine facility here, while readying it again for possible new cases, which we pray would not happen, but today we still have 30 more to be tested as PUIs with symptoms," she said in her letter to Gordon.
