The Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center (CGHMC) on Sunday, Aug. 29, denied that its health workers will be taking part in a mass walkout on Monday.

CGHMC said the circulating news in some media outlets of a looming protest by their employees are "fake news."
"For the longest time, CGHMC management and its employees' association have maintained a strong, fruitful, and working relationship. In fact, CGHMC is one of the few hospitals that have continued to add additional manpower and workers despite the ongoing pandemic," the hospital said in a statement.
The P21-million special risk allowance of its frontline health workers from the Department of Health (DOH) will be distributed "this week," the hospital assured.
"We would like to convey to the public that CGHMC management and its roster of health workers remain committed in its goals in maintaining quality service to its patients and a safe, healthy environment to its employees," CGHMC added.
Health workers from various hospitals in the country will start staging mass walkouts on Monday over the DOH's failure to release their benefits.
