The Ospital ng Sampaloc (OSSAM) will no longer accommodate coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients after it reached full capacity on Saturday (Aug. 28).
In an advisory, the hospital said it reached full capacity due to the current surge of COVID-19 cases.
"The Ospital ng Sampaloc has committed itself to care for, treat, and admit COVID-19 patients. But this current surge has taken its toll on our institution," the hospital said in a statement.
The institution urged the public to practice caution, follow minimum safety requirements, and get vaccinated. "Get vaccinated. And take part in stopping this pandemic," the institution said.
As of Friday (Aug. 27), the six district hospitals in the city also reached 70 percent capacity with a total of 349 beds occupied.
The Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital has also reached 90 percent of its bed capacity.
