Another community in Muntinlupa has been placed under granular lockdown due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi issued an order and imposed a 15-day Extreme Localized Community Quarantine (ELCQ) at Dizon Compound, Number 22, St. Bernard Street, San Jose Village in Brgy. Cupang from 6 p.m. of Aug. 28 to 6 p.m. of Sept. 12.

This is the 10th community in Muntinlupa to be placed under granular lockdown since Aug. 10.
According to Muntinlupa City Health Office (CHO) chief Dr. Juancho Bunyi, the imposition of ELCQ in the area was due to a case doubling time of two days and a high attack rate of 967.74 per 10,000 population as of Aug. 28. Doubling time refers to the number of days for COVID-19 cases to double in number.
To date, there are two confirmed COVID-19 cases in the compound and they were transferred to the Pacwood Isolation Facility in Brgy. Tunasan for admission. The remaining 60 residents of Dizon Compound underwent swabbing tests conducted by the CHO.
Bunyi said the community, with a total of 16 households, has high risk groups composed of two children below five years old and three senior citizens including one centenarian.
The Muntinlupa police will secure the area while the City Social Service Department and barangay will provide food packs and other basic items for the affected residents during the ELCQ.
The Muntinlupa City government has lifted the ELCQ in five of the 10 areas put under lockdown: Purok 3, Molera Compound in Brgy. Sucat and Purok 7, Beatriz Compound, De Mesa L & B Street in Brgy. Alabang, which was on lockdown from Aug. 6 to 27; Block 8, Hills View and Mangga Street, Lakeview Homes in Brgy. Putatan from Aug. 12 to 26; and Chico Street, Laguerta in Brgy.
