Former wife of Maguindanao Rep. Esmael 'Toto' Mangudadatu reacts: 'I'm at peace'

Mylene Mangudadatu, one of the wives of Maguindanao Rep. Esmael "Toto" Mangudadatu who earlier sought the help of broadcaster Raffy Tulfo, has said she is "at peace" following the marriage of the politician and beauty queen Sharifa Akeel last Aug. 25.

This was revealed by Gio MIguel Ocampo, best friend of Mylene Mangudadatu, on Facebook recently.

In Gio's post, he wrote:

"To EVERYONE who is asking me how is my bestfriend - Mylene Maligaya-Mangudadatu, I just had a call from her. She said; 'I’m at peace, no problem. :)' This is not a big thing for her, life goes on, she is happy and contented now."

In September 2020, Akeel became controversial when she was rumored to have had an affair with Mangudadatu.

The allegations came from Mangudadatu’s wife herself, Mylene Maligaya-Mangudadatu.

On Aug. 27, Esmael and Sharifa opened up about their love affair in a video uploaded by the beauty queen on her Facebook.

“Sana sa pamamagitan nito, ay masagot na ang lahat ng tanong upang makapamuhay na rin kami ng payapa at pribado,” the politician said in the video.

Akeel said: "Sana ay maintidihan ninyo na hindi madali ang lahat ng ito. May mga tao kasi kaming ayaw masaktan, mga relasyong aming iniingatan, at may mga buhay na aming pinapahalagahan."

"Nais kong linawin na hindi po naging kalaguyo si Sharifa kailanman. Pinakasalan ko siya at buong puso akong naniniwala na tinanggap niya ako bilang isang asawa dahil mahal niya ako at hindi dahil sa aking estado," the congressman said.
