First PCG radio repeater center installed in Central Luzon

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) installed its first-ever radio repeater center in Central Luzon on Wednesday, Aug. 25.

Personnel of the PCG District National Capital Region (NCR) – Central Luzon, PCG Station Cavite, and PCG Communications, Electronics, and Information Systems Command have constructed its radio repeater, which was located at the People’s Park in the Sky in Tagaytay City.

The radio repeater center has a maximum range of 50 nautical miles that enhances maritime law enforcement, maritime safety, and maritime security within the vicinity waters of Mindoro, Subic, Lubang Island, Quezon Province, Manila Bay, and Laguna de Bay.

Meanwhile, the PCG bared that it is also set to build a Very High Frequency (VHF) radio repeater to enhance communication channels in the coastal communities of Mapun, Tawi-Tawi.
