Calls to One Hospital Command continue to increase --- DOH exec

The number of patients calling the government's One Hospital Command Center (OHCC) continues to increase as it is now receiving at least 500 calls daily, an official of the Department of Health (DOH) said.

Last July, the OHCC was only receiving more than 100 calls per day, said DOH Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega on Friday, Aug. 27.

"Nag-a-average na iyong incoming calls namin ng mga 500 plus, mga 530 calls per day (The average incoming calls is about 530 calls per day)," said Vega in a public press briefing.

"Tumataas talaga ‘to compared dito sa first week of July na ang incoming calls namin nasa mga ano lang, 110 to 120 calls (It's really increasing compared to the first week of July when our incoming calls were only 110 to 120 calls)," he added.

Vega said that currently, they are managing to take calls from patients despite the increase in the number of calls.

“Medyo talagang tumataas at saka—ano naman po namin, kinakaya po namin iyong aming number of calls ngayon (It's really increasing but we can still manage to respond to the calls),” he said.

“Mayroon kaming better connectivity at saka visibility sa lahat ng mga hospitals na kung saan ho puwede ma-transfer or mag-coordinate iyong mga pasyente (We have better connectivity and visibility with all hospitals where patients could be transferred or coordinated),” he added.

The OHCC is a healthcare referral network linked with service providers such as hospitals, quarantine facilities, and medical transportation.
