Angel Locsin reveals reason entering showbiz

Angel Locsin is among biggest names in showbiz.

She started her career around 2001.

But did you know she actually wasn’t aiming towards becoming an actress?

Apparently, the young Angel simply thought the whole thing a huge “raket.” Something that would help her earn enough to help her dad regain his eyesight.

She told Matteo Guidicelli in his vlog, "Naghahanap ako ng way para maka-contribute sa bahay. So, isa akong batang raketera."

"Dapat two years lang ako sa showbiz. Yun lang kasi ang deadline ko. Mag-iipon lang ako, papaopera ko tatay ko," she added.

That she was able to achieve but by then it was for naught.

Her father’s eyesight couldn’t be saved anymore.

At that point, a dejected Angel actually thought of quitting showbiz.

 She said, "Medyo na-lost ako. Parang wala akong purpose. Hindi ko alam kung ano gagawin."

But her experiences in showbiz ignited a passion for acting.

“Na-challenge ako. Na-challenge lang ako na parang, ‘Okay, pakita ko na kaya ko.’ ’Tapos tanggap lang ako nang tanggap ng trabaho.”

She credits “senior stars” she met along the way in helping her become who she is today.

 “Nakakita ako ng magagaling na artista, yung mga senior actors natin, na-impress ako doon sa passion nila."
