'Time to shine': Young Filipino artists urged to join PH Research Council's painting competition
The National Research Council of the Philippines-National Quincentennial Commemoration (NRCP-NQC) is calling on young Filipino artists to join its Kabataan Painting Competition.

The NRCP-NQC said it has started accepting entries for the competition, which targets Filipino youth nationwide.
“Calling all Kabataan out there! This is your time to shine! The National Research Council of the Philippines-National Quincentennial Commemoration (NRCP-NQC) Kabataan Painting Competition is now open!,” it wrote on Facebook.
The painting competition “aims to deepen the youths’ understanding of the country’s rich history and pre-colonial cultural heritage through the arts,” it said.
Contestants may visit https://nqc.nrcpvirtual.com/painting-competition/ for the competition guidelines and mechanics.
The entries must be submitted on Nov. 10, 2021.
The NCRP said awarding of winners and public exhibit of selected entries will be on Dec. 9-12.
Winners are expected to receive cash prizes. The first prize will receive P150,000; second prize, P100,000; and third prize, P75,000. Three consolation prizes amounting P20,000 each will also be given.
