PCG nabs 31 fishermen for illegal fishing in Naic, Cavite


The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has arrested 31 local fishermen for illegal fishing off the waters of Naic, Cavite on Monday.

In an incident report, personnel of the PCG caught the 31 local fishermen using trawling gear off Barangay Bucana, Naic, Cavite on Monday, Aug. 23.

The apprehended fishermen will face charges for violation of Municipal Ordinance No. 1, Series of 2018 due to illegal fishing using trawling gear.

Personnel of PCG Station Cavite escorted the fishermen’s motorbanca to the Barangay Bucana impounding area for proper documentation prior to filing legal charges.

The PCG said personnel of station Cavite remains active in conducting seaborne patrols to apprehend illegal fishing in the area.
