Pateros Mayor Miguel “Ike” Ponce III issued an executive order Tuesday outlining the rules and guidelines for the municipality under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), which will be in effect in Metro Manila until Aug. 31.
Under Executive Order No. 26, “only persons eighteen (18) years and above and not more than sixty-five (65 years old and without immunodeficiency, comorbidity, or other health risk or not pregnant shall be allowed outside their residence but only when they are obtaining essential goods and services or for work in Industries and offices allowed to operate or such other activities permitted under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine:”

The use of quarantine pass is no longer required in Pateros and curfew hours will still be from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Liquor ban will continue in Pateros except for establishments that will sell liquor or alcoholic beverages to customers outside the municipality.
Physical exercise will be allowed for people ages 15 and above from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. but only within a park or in an open space within a radius of 10 km from their residence:
The order also allows all establishments and businesses dealing with the manufacture. distribution, wholesale and retail of essential goods and services to operate at full capacity but food businesses are not allowed to provide dine-in indoors or outdoors.
Establishments and businesses involved in the manufacture of non-essential goods or offer non-essential services can operate up to 50 percent capacity.
Businesses not allowed to operate under MECQ are the following: beauty salons, beauty parlors, barbershops and nail spas; fitness studios, gyms or other indoor leisure centers or facilities and swimming pools; recreational venues such as internet cafes, billiard halls. amusement arcades, bowling alleys and similar venues; and indoor sports or outdoor contact sports.
“All forms of mass gatherings shall not be allowed except those sponsored bv the National or Local Government to execute or roll out services beneficial to the people,” according to the order.
Religious gatherings or activities are not allowed. Religious groups are advised to hold their religious services online. Gatherings for necrological services, wakes (maximum of three days), inurnment, funerals for those who died of causes other than coronavirus disease (COVID-19) will be allowed but it will be limited to immediate family members.
All types of transportation are allowed to operate but tricycles will continue to follow the odd-even scheme in Pateros.
Ponce said all establishments and businesses that are allowed to operate either on a full or 50 percent capacity need to ensure that minimum health standards are observed at all times by the employees and the customers.
“Violation of any of the provisions of this Executive Order and the Guidelines, Issuances and Ordinance which were made part hereof shall subject the violator to the penalties provided by the applicable laws and ordinance. In addition, if the violator is an establishment, the business permit or license to operate shall be suspended or cancelled as may be warranted by the circumstances,” according to the order, which will be in effect during the duration of MECQ in Metro Manila.
